Tournament Cancelled

Coaches, the board of directors for the Southwest Shootout wish to thank all the teams that have supported this event over the past 22 years.  But to date we only have two teams expressing interest in this years July 5th - 7th tournament.  Therefore, it is with sadness that I have to cancel this years event due to lack of interest from the coaches around the state.  The teams that have sent in their rosters and fees will have them returned shortly.

The 2009 Southwest Shootout Tournament will be held July 5th - 7th.  The Southwest Shootout, known as the Whataburger Shootout, will be held at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.

This will NOT be an NCAA sanctioned event at the present time.  The NCAA has made it almost impossible to hold a sanctioned event with their new rules.  Therefore, NCAA Division 2, NCAA Division 3, NAIA and Junior Colleges will be in attendance, but no NCAA Division 1.  If this changes, we will annouce the same on this web page.  

There will be three divisions in the tournament with a maximum of 16 teams in each National, American, Open and Junior divisions.  

Four game guarantee and if entered before June 1, 2009 entry fee is $375.00 per team.  After June 1, 2009 the entry fee is $425.00 per team.

American Division - Consisting of players from no more than two high schools. Limit of 16 teams

National Division - Consisting of 15 & 16 Under Teams.  Limit of 16 teams.

Open Division - Will include graduating seniors.  Limit of 16 teams.
